Paradox alarm systems are one of the most popular and reliable security solutions for homes and businesses. They offer a range of features and options to suit different needs and preferences. However, if you want to get the most out of your Paradox alarm system, you need to use the right software to program, manage and control it.
Unfortunately, Paradox does not provide a native software for Mac users. This means that you cannot use the official Paradox software such as Babyware, NeWare or Insite Gold on your Mac computer. However, this does not mean that you cannot use Paradox alarm software for Mac at all. There are some alternative ways to access and use Paradox alarm software for Mac that we will explain in this article.
Option 1: Use Paradox App on Your Mobile Device
One of the easiest and most convenient ways to use Paradox alarm software for Mac is to use the Paradox app on your mobile device. Paradox offers two apps for iOS and Android devices: Insite Gold and BlueEye. These apps allow you to connect and interface with your Paradox alarm system via cellular or IP devices. You can use these apps to monitor and control your security, video verification, surveillance, automation and access from anywhere in the world.
Insite Gold is the official app from Paradox that requires a subscription fee and registration with the Swan server. It offers a bridge to connect Paradox systems to cellular or IP devices, video streaming and push notifications, site supervision and push if lost, auto-connect to PCS cellular devices, IP150 and IP cameras, encrypted communication and no port forwarding or IP configuration required[^1^].
BlueEye is a third-party app that does not require a subscription fee or registration with any server. It offers similar features as Insite Gold but with some limitations such as no video streaming or push notifications[^2^].
To use these apps, you need to have a compatible Paradox alarm system such as EVOHD, EVO192, SP4000, SP65, SP5500, SP6000, SP7000, MG6250, MG5000, MG5050 or MG5075. You also need to have an IP150 module or a PCS cellular device connected to your alarm system. You can download these apps from the App Store or Google Play Store and follow the instructions to set up your account and connect your device.
Option 2: Use a Windows Emulator on Your Mac
Another way to use Paradox alarm software for Mac is to use a Windows emulator on your Mac computer. A Windows emulator is a software that allows you to run Windows applications on your Mac without installing Windows. There are several Windows emulators available for Mac such as Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion or VirtualBox. These emulators allow you to create a virtual machine that runs Windows on your Mac.
To use this option, you need to have a compatible Windows emulator installed on your Mac computer. You also need to have a copy of Windows operating system that you can install on the virtual machine. You can then install the Paradox software of your choice such as Babyware, NeWare or Insite Gold on the virtual machine and run it as if you were using a Windows computer.
Babyware is the end-user management software for Paradox alarm systems that allows you to assign access control options, program access levels, set schedules, update firmware and more[^2^]. NeWare is the end-user management software for Digiplex EVO by Paradox that offers similar features as Babyware[^1^]. Insite Gold is the installer management software for Paradox systems that allows you to create accounts, manage sites, test zones and more[^1^].
To use this option, you also need to have a 307USB direct connect USB cable or an IP150 module connected to your alarm system. You can then connect your Mac computer to your alarm system via USB or IP and upload/download data using the Paradox software.
Paradox alarm systems are great security solutions for homes and businesses but they do not have a native software for Mac users. However, this does not mean that you cannot use Paradox alarm software for aa16f39245
